1. Responsibility

The Owner/Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining this IIPP and ensuring it is effectively communicated to all employees.

2. Compliance

We enforce safety rules by:

    • Recognizing employees who follow safety procedures (verbal praise, small rewards, public recognition).
    • Disciplining those who violate safety rules (verbal warning, written warning, suspension, or termination).
    • Providing retraining to employees who violate rules.
    • Monitoring and rating all employees on their safety performance through regular observation and quarterly reviews.

3. Communication

We maintain open lines of communication by:

    • Holding daily tailgate safety meetings and weekly check-ins.
    • Encouraging employees to report hazards or unsafe practices.
    • Posting safety information visibly on job sites.
    • Providing the IIPP through our website, in printed form upon request, or via supervisor.

4. Hazard Assessment

Hazards are identified through:

    • Weekly jobsite inspections.
    • Inspections when the safety program is first established.
    • Inspections following new substances, procedures, or equipment.
    • Inspections following the report or discovery of a new hazard.
    • Review of incident reports, employee feedback, and equipment logs.

Responsible Parties: Owner/Safety Coordinator and Foreman/Site Supervisor.

5. Accident/Exposure Investigation

In the event of an incident, we:

    • Visit the scene as soon as possible.
    • Interview the injured worker(s) and witnesses.
    • Examine the conditions contributing to the incident.
    • Determine root cause(s).
    • Take corrective action.
    • Document findings and solutions.

Responsible Parties: Owner/Safety Coordinator and Foreman/Site Supervisor.

Additional procedures include: preserving evidence, checking for policy violations, reviewing safety training and PPE use, and reporting to Cal/OSHA when required.

6. Hazard Correction

We correct hazards:

    • Immediately when first noticed, if possible.
    • When an imminent hazard is identified, by removing all employees from the area except those needed to correct the condition and providing them with protective measures.

Responsible Parties: Owner/Safety Coordinator and Foreman/Site Supervisor.

7. Training and Instruction

Training is provided:

    • At hire.
    • When assigned to new tasks.
    • When new hazards are introduced.
    • When safety violations occur.
    • Annually, as a refresher.

Training topics include fall protection, ladder safety, PPE use, heat illness prevention, proper equipment handling, and emergency procedures.

8. Access to the IIPP

All employees have access to this IIPP:

    • Via printed copy upon request.
    • Electronically upon request.
    • By asking a supervisor.

A copy will be provided within five (5) business days of request.
